Any
chance the Simon Sisters Sing For Children will be reissued
on CD? I grew up listening to that album and would like to share
it with my son.
Two of the the Simon Sisters recordings for Kapp Records from
the 1960's have been recently remastered and are available as
a limited edition release. Some of these songs did appear on
the "Sing For Children" album.
The
"Sing For Children" albums have recently been released
on CD.

What
is the song Let The River Run about?
I'm trying to find an album with your song, Jerusalem on it.
Could you please tell me where I can find it?
Carly
wrote Let
The River Run specifically for the 1989 movie Working
Girl. She was awarded a Golden Globe and an Oscar for
Best Original Song in 1989 and a Grammy for Best Song written
for a Motion Picture in 1990. Carly has stated that she found
inspiration for the lyrics by first reading the original script,
and then by the poems of Walt Whitman. Musically, she wanted
to write a hymn to New York with a contemporary jungle beat
under it, so as to juxtapose those opposites in a compelling
way.
A
version of this song, with slightly modified lyrics, was used
in a USPS commercial shortly after September 11th. The phrases
"Silver Cities Rise" and "The New Jerusalem"
seem to have taken on a new meaning for many people, but the
song was not originally composed with any particular political
and/or religious overtones.
